A Different kind of Independence Celebration
Unbeknownst to those unfamiliar with the Keys, these islands stand untied as an independent sovereign nation (humorously) known as the Conch Republic. Every year this proud nation throws an over a weeklong celebration commemorating its fight for independence, and all are welcomed! This year’s celebration will take place from April 15th to the 24th and there will be no shortage of activities. From an arts and crafts fair to bar crawls and even a boat parade, this event is one you’ll never forget!
A Different kind of Independence Celebration
The Keys aren’t just known for beautiful nature and unique animals, the people of these islands are exceptionally talented too! On one Saturday each month the Florida Keys Community Concert Band comes together to perform at one of the local parks for free. This April they will be performing on the 23rd at Islamorada Founders Park Amphitheater where local students will join the band. An American Showstopper
