National Veterans Golf Association Tournament

9:00 am Shotgun Start @ South Course
Free to attend
Volunteers & player sign-up available

Join us as we proudly welcome the National Veterans Golf Association Tour to Big Cypress Golf Club. This special event brings together veterans from across the country for a memorable day of competition and community.

Members are encouraged to come out, walk the course, and show support as these veterans take on the course. Afternoon tee times will be available for members following the event.

Opportunities are available to volunteer or participate. Stop by the billiards room to sign up or contact the Golf Shop for more details. Come be part of a meaningful and patriotic day at the club.

Pancake Breakfast

Enjoy a delicious breakfast without leaving the community or cooking for yourself. Once a month in the Main Hall, the HOA serves a pancake breakfast with eggs, sausage, fruit, juice, and coffee for residents to relax and enjoy.

Every third Saturday at 7:00 a.m.

Resident Coffee Talk

Coffee Talk is a monthly meeting in the Main Hall where residents can hear updates from the HOA and management and learn about upcoming community events.

The session also provides time for residents to ask questions and share feedback.

Aqua Tabata

Aqua Tabata is a fun, high-energy water workout that uses interval training and water resistance for a full-body workout. Held at the walk-in pool closest to fitness center.

Wednesdays at 1:00 p.m, weather permitting.

Lunch and Learns give residents a chance to meet vendors and service providers face-to-face and learn about a variety of topics, from legal and healthcare services to home contractors. While food is sometimes provided, the main focus is on gaining useful insights and information.

This is a social group for women that enjoy themed luncheons, outings, and bus trips. It’s a fun way to meet neighbors, make friends, and take part in a variety of activities. This group is not golf related.

The Cypress Lakes RV Club is a club for those who are avid RVers and like to travel and enjoy each other’s company.  The Club does several campouts every year.

Join this group of residents that are passionate about honoring Veterans and Veteran Related Organizations.

They also run a program called the Good Samaritan Handyman Project: Members of the CLVA are available to assist residents of Cypress Lakes with small chores around the house at NO COST to the homeowner. This program is for those residents that are unable to do those tasks themselves.

A social group that meets on Monday morning to make shorts, T-shirts & baby layettes for the children of Polk County. They also make lap robes for nursing homes. It’s a great way to meet ladies with similar interests and contribute to wonderful charities.

Curtain Time Players is the theater group for Cypress Lakes. In addition to being on stage, there are plenty of off-stage activities you can get involved in. They perform three or four shows a year. All residents are invited to join the group and audition for the shows. No experience necessary.

If you enjoy singing four-part harmony, join us for our two annual performances. Practice runs January through March for the spring concert and October through November for the Tree Lighting Ceremony. No tryouts or music reading skills are required.

AMBUCS is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to improving mobility and independence for people with disabilities. This resident-led group supports that mission locally through fundraising and volunteer ramp-building projects that help neighbors stay active and safely remain in their homes.

Neighbor to Neighbor is a volunteer group of approximately 35 members that supports residents who may be living alone or in need of additional assistance. The group offers friendly check-ins, companionship, and helps connect residents with local resources such as transportation, housekeeping, and caregiver services.

Just a friendly reminder that Neighbor to Neighbor is available as a resource if you ever notice a neighbor who may need a little extra support.
