Soak Up Local Color
Sun Valley sparks joy for all residents and one of the main reasons is the fact that there are so many onsite activities offered up weekly. We do have to admit that the sweetest thing about living in Tarpon Springs is the local events and festivals held right in the surrounding area. We want you to be a part of the excitement so here are some exciting shindigs to expect this May:
Sunset Beach Concert Series
On the first Thursday of the month, Sunset Beach hosts a concert series; and the next one on May 2 will feature Hard Country Rooster. The monthly event is very relaxing because attendees can watch the beautiful sunset while listening to the music. Food trucks are available as well. Hours are from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., and the address is 1800 Gulf Road.
Night in the Islands
Don’t miss Night in the Islands on May 19 from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Dodecanese Boulevard at the Sponge Docks. The free festival is the opportunity to enjoy Greek dancing, music and dining.
So you say you don’t know how to dance as the Grecians do? Well you are in luck because the Levendia Dance Troupe will offer free dance lessons from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Time to show off your skills!
If you haven’t tried one of the fabulous restaurants in town that feature Greek cuisine, this is your moment to get fully immersed in the culture so make your reservations early. Some fabulous options include Hellas, Costa’s, Mykonos or Mama’s.
Sweet Corn Festival
Who doesn’t adore corn on the cob!? We share the same sentiment which is why we are bursting to let you know about The Sweet Corn Festival, held on May 18 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Craig Park on the Bayou. It will feature music, food, vendors and a sweet corn roast.
