Residents can look forward to the Super Bowl Party, Luau dinner, bake sale, movie nights and a shindig called “Night at the Races.” In addition, an array of off-site outings are planned that include a Solomon’s Castle Tour, Lakeridge Winery bus trip and Valentine’s Day cruise, along with a Marina Jack II sightseeing excursion, and jaunts into Broadway Palms to attend theatrical productions. Events on the agenda for March involve a Pie Extravaganza and billiards tournament.

Sarasota hosts numerous fairs and festivals every year. On February 9 and 10, head down to Main Street for the Festival of the Arts, which will display the beautiful works of more than 250 regional and national artists. Reportedly, the gala ranks among the top 100 art fairs in the country.
It’s always so interesting to attend events that feature the cuisine and culture of one of the ethnicities that make up the great American melting pot. A wonderful example is the Saint Barbara Greek Festival, otherwise called Glendi, on February 7 to 10. After a day of enjoying traditional Greek music and dancing, as well as feasting on gyros, moussaka and baklava, you’ll feel like you’ve traveled to the old country.
