The Results are in for the 3rd Annual Cove’s Got Talent Finale

The anticipation is over as the curtains close on another thrilling year of talent during the 3rd annual Cove’s Got Talent competition! The finale, held at Cypress Lakes Village, was the final showcase after a fierce round of preliminary competitions held at our various resorts and communities.

With eleven finalists competing for the grand prize, they showcased a diverse range of talents, spanning from playing instruments to singing and dancing, where each performance was truly unique and captivating.

On the day of the finale, we were honored to have the charismatic Rechell Sears as our MC, a U.S. Army veteran whose presence added an extra layer of significance to the event. Among the panel of judges was Dorothy Copfer, Corporate Partnerships Manager representing DAV, Connor Feagin, Entertainment Operations Manager at Talent Artistic Group, and Carol Erkes, founder of Florida Dance Theatre.

So without further ado and after much deliberation, we’re very excited to announce the 2024 Cove’s Got Talent winners!

First Place: Frances Johnson from Cypress Lakes Village wowed the audience with her mesmerizing tap dance routine! For her outstanding performance, she takes home the grand prize of $2,500!

Second Place: Let’s give a round of applause to Danny Insley from Holiday RV Village! His soulful rendition of “Save Me” by Jelly Roll captivated us all, earning him the second-place prize of $1,000!

Third Place: A big shoutout to the Rolling Green’s Village dance team “Off Our Rockers”! Their spirited performance dazzled the crowd andsecured them the third-place spot, along with aprize of $500!

Congratulations to all of you! It’s also worth noting that every contestant delivered outstanding performances. However, our top three winners truly stood out with their exceptional talents and stage presence.

Funds Raised for the Disabled American Veterans:

The Cove’s Got Talent competition is not just a day of thrilling performances and jaw-dropping displays of skill; it’s also a platform for a noble cause. Each year, we proudly partner with the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), a non-profit organization dedicated to providing vital support to veterans and their families.

This year’s Cove’s Got Talent was particularly special as we were able to raise an impressive grand total of $106,752, surpassing last year’s proceeds for DAV! This brings our total fundraising efforts since 2022 to over $300,000.

Such a remarkable achievement wouldn’t have been possible without the generous support of our corporate and individual sponsors, including Jacobsen Homes, Colleen Edwards, Big Fish, Novak Environmental Services, and many others.

Our resorts and communities also played a pivotal role in this success by organizing a wide range of fundraising events. From bake sales and health fairs to pancake brunches and yard sales, each event contributed to our overall goal. Additionally, initiatives like raffles, auctions, homemade bracelet exchanges, and pub crawls added a fun and creative element to our fundraising efforts. Through their unwavering commitment and hard work, we were able to raise an astounding $56,752, making it the highest amount ever raised through grassroots fundraising efforts by our resorts and communities. Moreover, Cove generously donated an additional $50,000, which helped us reach our grand total.

We owe gratitude to everyone who contributed their time, resources, and dedication to making this year’s fundraiser a success. It’s through their hard work and commitment that we were able to surpass our fundraising goal and make a meaningful difference in the lives of veterans and their families.

If you’re interested in seeing the show for yourself, we do have the recording from our YouTube Channel, as well as an abundance of photos on our Cove Communities Facebook page.  We hope to see you all next year!
