Turn Up the Jams & Jump in the Pool
With great activities, a beautiful view and warm-hearted people, some residents of The Meadows think it’s the best place on Earth to live. A variety of pursuits is offered: you can pick the ones that interest you the most, or you can participate in them all. Examples of what to expect include exercise sessions, water aerobics, dominoes, line dancing, billiards, bingo, shuffleboard, darts, euchre and Bible studies.
‘The Meadows’ Got Talent!
In addition to our especially robust calendar of activities, here are some special events scheduled that you do not want to miss:
- Who can resist a talent show such as the one scheduled for March 30? It will be so much fun to watch neighbors and friends sing, dance or play their instruments.
- On April 21, we’ll celebrate Easter together with a lovely luncheon located in the clubhouse.
What’s Up, Loquat Festival?
If you aren’t a native Floridian, it’s interesting to attend local festivals to learn about the food and culture. Don’t miss the Loquat Festival on March 23, which will be held in a nearby town. The event will feature live music and an opportunity to purchase jellies, jams and compotes made with luscious locally grown fruit.
Hours are from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The location is Frances Avenue Park at 5580 Frances Avenue, New Port Richey.
Feeling Grecian?
While you can find wonderful baklava in town, some of the local bakeries offer a mouthwatering assortment of other Greek pastries. When you’re out and about, drop into Taste of Greece Bakery for a dessert that will make you swoon. The address is 709 Dodecanese Blvd, Tarpon Springs.
