Banana Ball players traded baseball bats for golf clubs this summer in Maine. Players with the wildly popular, yet unconventional, brand of baseball came to Portland, Maine, for two sold-out games. But first, they spent their day off golfing, swimming, and playing at Point Sebago Resort.
Players for the Texas Tailgaters experienced all the staples of a classic Maine summer vacation during their July visit. They cruised Sebago Lake, golfed the Point Sebago Resort Golf Course, and capped off their stay at the popular Tiki Bar.
It was a quick getaway before playing the Loco Beach Coconuts on July 24th and 25th at Hadlock Field’s Dental Dental Park.
What is Banana Ball?
Both teams are part of the Banana Ball League. The league includes the renowned Savannah Bananas. The team made a name for themselves by entertaining sold-out crowds nationwide, combining baseball with trick plays, singing, and dancing. The games feature nonstop fan interaction.
It’s not your typical Maine baseball game.
It’s baseball with a twist.
Baseball players do backflips or sing between pitches. The idea is that every moment feels like a live show for the whole family.

Banana Baseball Teams Coming to Maine
The Texas Tailgaters brought the same brand of fun to Point Sebago Resort Golf Course in Casco, Maine. It’s an appropriate stop for Texas Tailgaters baseball players.
The Tailgaters celebrate big on the field, from home runs to honky-tonks. They’re known for line dancing and their country music band.
Much like Banana Ball, Point Sebago Golf Course keeps golf fun. It’s known as a serious course for seriously fun people. And it’s got the accolades to back it up. The par-72, 18-hole championship course is one of the best public courses in Maine, according to GolfPass.

The between-game golf wasn’t just a highlight for players. One of their biggest fans also had the chance to meet the players on the golf course. Players left Caroline Jerome’s grandson on cloud nine during his visit to Point Sebago Resort.
“These guys were the very best,” shared Jerome after her grandson got to meet his favorite players before they teed off. “They were so sweet to him, signed a ball, and talked about baseball.”
Baseball Players Vacation at Point Sebago Resort
The good times extended beyond the Point Sebago Golf Course and its 19th Hole Bar & Grill.
Players got to experience the summer camp magic of Point Sebago Resort beyond the golf course. The classic, family-friendly Sebago Lake camp features waterfront cabin rentals, tiny homes, and RV sites.
The Texas Tailgaters players stayed in premium cabin rentals, which they showed off on social media. Premium cabins sleep six with two bedrooms and a pull-out sofa.
“It’s pretty sweet if you ask me,” exclaimed Zach Watson during his social media video tour.
Cabins and RV sites can be booked online a year in advance. There’s also the option to rent Point Sebago venues for work trips, weddings, and family reunions.
Guests at Point Sebago can access beachfront amenities, 250+ weekly activities during the summer months, and a marina. Players cruised Sebago Lake, boating to see the incredible views along Maine’s prettiest lake, and ended their day with a night swim.
The 775-acre resort also offers on-site dining options. Baseball players ate at the popular Tiki Bar. The beachfront bar offers views of Sebago Lake and boozy favorites like the rum bucket.

How to Watch Banana Ball’s Texas Tailgaters
Social media might be the best way to catch any Banana Ball action. The 2026 Banana Ball tour is sold out from Wrigley Field in Chicago to Albertsons Stadium in Boise, Idaho.
The Bananas announced tour dates for the 2026 season, including Maine, in October 2025. But getting tickets was more about luck than money. Tickets for Bananas games are distributed via a lottery system.
However, social media offers fans without tickets a look into the Banana Ball frenzy. The Texas Tailgaters and players have an impressive social media following. Social media videos show what life is like on the field and behind the scenes.
Banana Ball Returns to Maine
It’s not the first time Banana Ball has come to Maine. The Banana Ball World Tour brought the Savannah Bananas and the Party Animals to Hadlock Field for a series of exhibition games in 2023.
The Savannah Bananas wowed fans with sing-along, a band, and even a flaming baseball bat.
The league has expanded since adding the Texas Tailgaters, the Loco Beach Coconuts, and the Indianapolis Clowns.
